Position a spring roll wrapper on your workspace (I like using a large cutting board) so that it looks like a diamond when you look down on it.
1 package spring roll wrapper (8x8 inch)
Place 2 heaping tablespoons of ube jam and slices of cheddar cheese.
23 oz ube jam or ube halaya, 7 oz cheddar cheese
Roll starting from the bottom, then fold the sides, then seal the top by dabbing some cornstarch mixed with water.
¼ tsp cornstarch
Fry on medium-high heat until golden brown. You really only need about a minute on each side.

Remove from pan and allow the excess oil to drain before serving.

The total yield depends on how much filling you put in your turon. The estimated nutrition information is based on 20 turon.
Careful not to overfill your turon. I only place about 2 heaping tablespoons of ube jam and 2 small slices of cheese. If you overfill the turon, the filling might ooze out during cooking.
Also avoid overcooking. Remember that the filling is already cooked. Once the wrapper turns a nice golden brown, take it out.
For best results, don’t overcrowd your pan when frying.
