Apple parfait - delicious layers of soft caramel apples, crunchy walnut and oats cinnamon crisp, and homemade whipped cream. A scrumptious make-ahead dessert that’s perfect for company.
Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
First cook your apple filling by combining all apple filling ingredients in a large skillet on medium heat. Stir until the butter completely melts. Cook until apples are soft and sauce is thick, stirring occasionally (about 15 minutes).
Remove from heat and set aside.
While that's cooking, work on your cinnamon crisp. In a large bowl, stir all cinnamon crisp ingredients together until combined. Transfer to your prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes. Give it a quick stir so that the crisp bakes evenly. Continue baking for another 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan.
To assemble your parfait, start with caramel apples, then the cinnamon crisp, then whipped cream or ice cream. You can sprinkle more crisp on top if you like. Or drizzle it with salted caramel sauce.

Notes
I usually use granny smith or golden delicious apples for this parfait recipe. See post for tips on what kind of apple to use.
The number of servings depend on how big or small your parfait glasses are. You can also use mason jars or choose not to use glasses at all! You can simply scoop the parfait components into a bowl and dig in.
