I’m a big fan of old-fashioned oatmeal so when overnight oats became all the rage several years go, I got on that train fast.
Convenient, no cooking required, creamy and delicious!
While I still enjoy oatmeal once in a while, overnight oats are now my go-to for a fast and portable breakfast.
Let’s make one of my favorites.
Why you’ll love making raspberry white chocolate overnight oats

Raspberry and white chocolate are a match made in flavor heaven (like these raspberry white chocolate cookies). They go so well together! And that combination shines in this recipe. Also:
- Easy to make. Just mix everything and chill.
- Make-ahead. You can make them 3-5 days ahead of when you plan on consuming them. Perfect if you’re meal prepping.
- Customizable. Add as many or as little toppings as you like.
(Raspberry smoothie bowl is also a delicious raspberry morning treat!)
How to make

White chocolate overnight oats are so easy to make. Make them the night before for a delicious, grab-and-go breakfast the next day.
Ingredients
These raspberry overnight oats do not contain yogurt. You can find the full ingredient list in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.
A few things to note:
- Rolled oats — I usually use rolled oats in this recipe. Sprouted oats and old-fashioned oats will work too. I don’t recommend using instant oats because they tend to get too mushy, nor steel cut oats because they won’t absorb the liquid.
- Chia seeds — help make your mixture thick and creamy.
- White chocolate chips — you can also use white chocolate chunks. Take your favorite white chocolate bar and roughly chop.
- Milk — we usually use almond milk, but any kind of milk will work.
- Sweetener — honey and maple syrup are our sweetener of choice. You can substitute with whatever you like.
Tools
You don’t need anything special to make this recipe. Just a bowl and containers to store the oats in. We prefer individual mason jars but you can really use any container you like.
Step-by-step photos

In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, chia seeds, vanilla, white chocolate chips and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

Blend almond milk and fresh raspberries until smooth.

Pour your raspberry milk mixture into your oats and stir until well incorporated. Taste and add honey to your liking.

Transfer the oats into airtight containers and chill overnight. You can transfer the oats to a bowl and garnish with your favorite toppings or eat directly from the container.
Expert tips

- Use the right kind of oats. When making overnight oats, it’s important to use the right kind of oats i.e.rolled oats, sprouted oats or old-fashioned oats. Avoid instant or quick cooking oats because they tend to get too mushy, and steel cut oats because they won’t absorb the liquid.
- Allow enough time for the oats to set. For best results, chill the mixture in the fridge overnight. This also helps the chia seeds absorb the liquid for a chunkier and creamier consistency.
- Adjust the consistency to your liking. Once you’ve added the milk and mixed all ingredients together, you can already tell if the oats are the consistency you want. If you want them runnier, add a little bit more milk. If you want them firmer, add a little bit more oats. Just remember that chia seeds absorb liquid as they soak.
- Add your favorite toppings. Be as creative as you like! Add more raspberries, chopped nuts, coconut, and more. Just remember to add these before consuming and not to the mixture itself so they retain their texture.
(Try these blueberry overnight oats too!)
Recipe FAQs

I prefer using fresh raspberries especially in the spring and summer however, you can use frozen raspberries as well.
Just be aware that they tend to have excess liquid once thawed, which can affect the consistency of your oats. Adjust as necessary.
Overnights oats are usually eaten cold, straight from the fridge. But you can absolutely warm it up and enjoy.
They last about a week. A few days in the raspberries may start to oxidize but no worries, they’re still safe to eat.
